Paris Music Hall Stars

The music halls of Paris, such as the Casino de Paris, date back to the 18th century. In the early 20th century they featured musical stars including Mistinguett, Maurice Chevalier, Josephine Baker and Zizi Jeanmnarie.

The music hall owners commissioned leading artists of the period such as Charles Gesmar, Zig, Paul Colin and Magritte to create posters for the music hall performers.These posters are now rare and are widely collected.
